ARTIST STATEMENT

Genevieve Geller is a ceramicist, painter and designer living and working in Brooklyn, New York. Her paintings and sculptures are explorations of the inner world. Working intuitively, she
expands feelings that come and go in a split second through expressive gestural strokes and active meditation.

 

Her work is an expression of the core belief that we must hold grief in one hand and joy in the other. Her current ceramic series explores the delicate intermingled forms of wilted tulips, sculpting each piece meticulously by hand in stoneware, and finishing them
with a combination of underglazes and glazes.
