My work is an expression of my reverence and connection to the earth.  It is a reflection of my life, artistic evolution and continual creative challenge.  The various qualities and colors of the earth provide the natural pigment and essence of my paintings.

Organic soil, ash, clay, sand, earth pigment and varnish are the materials I use to compose these pieces.  Built up by many layers of additions and subtractions, they are painted, carved, sanded and varnished, evolving slowly over time. This process of painting has been developed over many years.  These materials have a life of their own and shift from piece to piece.  It is an ongoing dance and exploration. I let them lead the way.
