eric breish

Born in Houston, TX in 1979, Eric Breish spent his childhood in various cities in Texas and Oklahoma. Upon graduating high school, Breish joined the US Marine Corps and moved to San Diego, CA., in 1997. After being honorably discharged as a decorated Sergeant in 2001, he attended Full Sail University in Florida where he earned an A.S. degree in Recording Arts, a B.S. degree in Entertainment Business and graduated Salutatorian in 2005. Upon graduation, he returned to San Diego where he worked for a company that designed clothing and accessories for action sports companies like Hurley and Billabong. It was these formative years that planted the creative seed that ultimately grew into an interest in visual arts.

In 2007, Breish moved to Houston, TX, and during a life-changing visit to Houston’s arts district, he discovered the New Gallery where he was first introduced to the work of internationally known artist Andreas Nottebohm. He was immediately fixated with metal art.   After meeting with Andreas, they developed a strong friendship and Breish began studying under his guidance and continues to work alongside Nottebohm in San Antonio, TX. It was this mentorship that pushed him to find his artistic voice while carrying on the tradition of this very unique style of metal-based art. Although he doesn’t currently have a formal degree in art, Breish believes the lack of formal education has allowed him to create a style that is not only unique and powerful, but one that cannot be learned in a classroom. Breish consistently shows throughout south Texas and his work resides in numerous private and public collections throughout the US.
